I got Mechanical Engineering at IIT-Roorkee and Engineering Design (5yr) at IIT-Madras. I chose Engineering Design at IIT-M. Looking at their closing ranks, i feel like i've chosen the wrong one, although i like both of these courses. I'm confused. Have i chosen the correct option(placement)?

Hello Aspirant,
Both Colleges are good. According to the rank then IIT madras is the best. But as be compare the fees of both colleges then IIT Roorkee for Mechanical engineering has less fees as compare to IIT Madras for Electrical Design. Both placements are good. I'm providing you some information about both colleges:
IIT Roorkree for Mechanical engineering:
Placements:- 72%
Package:- 10 LPA
Top requirements:- Honda, Bajaj, Maruti
IIT Madras for Engineering Design:
Placement:- 65-70%
Package:- 7 LPA to 26 LPA.
No of companies visited - 246 in 2018
