Yes, you can change from VIT University Chennai to VIT University Vellore but it is possible only at the joining time of the college in Chennai i.e. in first year and NOT in between the course.

There are two types of admission procedures in VIT, first is merit based admission done through the VITEEE entrance exam counselling, and the other is the Management quota admission which is done through donation.

If you have got CSE in VIT Chennai according to your rank and now you want to get CSE in VIT Vellore, you have to take admission through management quota as a donation candidate and have to pay more fees. If you are under 4th category then 4.6 lacs per year.

However, if you are concerned about the placement, then placements of both the campuses are done in VIT Vellore campus only.
