MIT stands to be amongst the best engineering colleges in the country, after the IITs. Students who seek admission into the UG program in this reputed college, need to appear for JEE Main or MH-CET. Until a few years back, JEE Mains was the sole criteria for admissions. However, the opportunity to seek admission through MH-CET has recently been opened for the benefit of the students.
- If applying through MH-CET, you have a buffer of 85% seats in all private unaided engineering colleges in Maharashtra.
- The eligibility criteria offers an equal 50:50 ratio to the results of JEE Mains and Class XII State Board Marks. Be mindful that the 85% reservation through MH-CET takes the cutoffs higher for JEE Mains.
JEE MAINS Cut Off:
You need to score at least 150 and above in JEE Mains to contest for a seat in MIT. That too, your branch of choice will hold the key to entry. Since 50% weightage is given to state board scores, your scores should be good there as well.
Beyond the regular entry through JEE Mains and MH-CET, there are many management quota seats. You can easily get through those, with the help of a lot of money.
Since MIT Pune is now MIT –WPU, please visit their site at http://mitwpu.edu.in/ , to refer any changes in the admission criteria.
