i have 62% in 10th,63% in 12th,6.7 cgpa in btech ,98%ile in cat , i am eligible for iim please answer me
First of all Uday congratulations for your excellent CAT score!!
Uday if we look only your CAT percentile then accept top 3 IIMs i.e. IIM A, B and C you could have got from all the other old IIMs i.e. IIM L, K, I and S and also from all new IIMs and ultra new IIMs. But the problem is your overall academic records which are consistently below average.
There is again no surety of selection or getting a call from these colleges because CAT marks are not the only parameter involved in the selection procedure. After CAT exam every college in which you have applied prepares a merit list to call students for next round of interview based on your aggregate score which comprises of many parameters such as CAT marks, 10th, 12th and graduation percentage, work experience, engineer or non-engineer whose weightage varies for all different colleges. Academic records generally have a weightage of 10-25%.
So, this could alter your progress. Still, you have a chance to get calls from ultra new IIMs and new IIMs. So, you can wait for their shortlist now and if you get a shortlist then you need to prepare very hard for the second round in order to overcome the loss of marks due to academic records. After your second round of interview again a new merit list is made which also includes marks of your interview, GD and WSAT which along with CAT marks generally have the highest weightage.
All the best!!
