I have 82.5% in 10th,74.6% in 12th and 60 % in graduation. How many percentile required to take admission in iim?can I illegiblefor it.?
Generally overall weightage of 10th 12th and graduation percentage is around 10-25 % in the aggregate score. So you can see how it can affect your call. In order to compensate the loss made due to the academic records you will need to aim for a little high percentile then the student with good academic records needs to get to get a call from an IIM.
In order to get a call from top 3 IIMs i.e. IIM A, B, C you need to score above 99.8 percentile. For other old IIMs you need to score above 98.5 percentile and for new IIMs you need to score above 96+ percentile. Even after scoring these there are some IIMs from where it will be very hard to get a call like Bangalore which gives way more weightage to work experience and Indore which gives more weightage to academic records even more than CAT marks.
If you are able to get a call the you can totally compensate the loss due to academic records with an excellent performance in interview and WSAT round. In the final merit list which is used to select students for admission maximum weightage is given to interview and WSAT round along with CAT marks.
Even with a very high percentile you can also get admission in top reputated private colleges like FMS Delhi, MDI Guragaon, IITs, S.P. Jain etc. In FMS it gives 0% weightage to academic records. 85% weightage is given to CAT marks. So with a high percentile like 99.7+ you can easily crack FMS which is one of the top 5 b-school in India.
All the best for your preparations and exams!!
