87 percentile is not very good marks to get admission in good college.

As 87 percentile means 13 percent students score more than you and when you calculate your approximately rank it will be more than 1 lakh and in this rank it will be difficult to get admitted in NIT .

( Exact rank will be shown only after the April exam s result because your rank will depend upon the April exam and total number of students ). So wait till the April  exam results.

But with the above given approximation you can prepare yourself for future and I would suggest you to do more better in April exam .

Yes, you might be eligible for NIT.But your eligibility also depends on the exam cutoff . However you would get NIT.
