Heyy Debashis,

You have a very good academic records which will help you further in you selection as they are an important parameters used in calculating your aggregate score used to create a final merit list. To get into top and good MBA colleges of India, the only thing you have to focus on is CAT. You need to have atleast 95 percentile to get into the Top MBA colleges of India and if your planning to get into the IIM's you need to score 95+ percentile in your CAT.

So its time to focus on CAT preparations and crack it with the required percentile.

All the BEST !!

With 8,6,7 you have an average academic records. This could be a little problem as after giving CAT exam every college including IIM in which you have applied prepares a merit list to call students for next round of interview and WSAT which is based on your aggregate score which comprises of many factors such as CAT marks, 10th 12th and graduation percentage, work experience, engineer or non engineer and gender with different weightages for different IIMs.

In this academic marks generally have a weightage from 10-25% which could really influence your merit rank hence influencing your call. So you need to target a little higher percentile than the closing cut-off.

For getting a call from top 3 IIMs like IIM A, B and C you need to score 99.6+ percentile. For other older IIMs like IIM L, K, I and S you need to score 98+ percentile. For getting a call from all the new IIMs and ultra new IIMs you need to score 95+ percentile.

All the best!!

Debashish 1 year work experience will not add much to your aggregate score. You will require same percentile for different IIMs as I have mentioned above in the answer.
99.6+ for top 3 IIMs, 98+ for other old IIMs and 95+ for New and ultra new IIMs.
