I have a valid OBC certificate. I want to avail reservation benefits but my transfer certificate says that I belong to general category. It is because I didn't have issued a caste certificate then. Now my school says my tc can't be issued again. What should I do now?

This discrepancy between your OBC caste certificate and your transfer certificate could potentially create problems during admission or other processes where caste-based reservations are applicable.

Here's what you can do:

1. Obtain a Revised Transfer Certificate:

  • Contact your school: Request a revised transfer certificate that accurately reflects your OBC caste category. Explain the discrepancy and provide necessary documentation to support your claim.
  • Provide supporting documents: You might need to submit copies of your OBC caste certificate, along with any other relevant documents that can verify your caste category.

2. Affidavit:

  • Create an affidavit: If obtaining a revised transfer certificate is challenging or time-consuming, you can create an affidavit stating your OBC caste and explaining the circumstances leading to the discrepancy. This affidavit can be notarized and submitted as supporting evidence.

3. Seek Legal Advice:

  • Consult a lawyer: If you encounter significant difficulties in rectifying the discrepancy, consult with a lawyer who specializes in educational matters. They can provide guidance and assistance in resolving the issue.

4. Contact the Relevant Authority:

  • Admission body or institution: If you're applying for admission to a college or university, contact their admissions office to explain the situation and inquire about the necessary steps to avail reservation benefits.

Remember to act promptly and gather all the required documents to support your claim. By addressing this discrepancy, you can increase your chances of successfully availing the OBC reservation benefits.
