Yes of course you can apply for admission in M.Tech course offered by NITs on the basis of your GATE score even if you have active backlogs in any of your subjects but for this you have to submit the copy of any of the marksheet of your final year issued from the institution where you were pursuing your qualifying examination means your Bachelor's course.

Apart from this you should also satisfy the GATE eligibility criteria which is described below :-

** The candidate should be an Indian national even if they live in other countries then also they are eligible.

** Candidate must have passed graduation in engineering program or Master's in any relevant science subject and even if you are in your pre-final year then also you can apply for GATE.
