I have btech from Kerala, can I write PGCET exam to do mtech in Karnataka
PGCET is the Post Graduate Common Entrance Test which is for all graduate students for admission in their master degree like MBA(Master of Business Administration), M.tech(Master in Technology) , M.Pharma(Master in Pharmacy), M.Arch(Master in Architecture), M.E(Master in Education) courses.
Yes, you can write the examination PGCET but there is certain criteria which you need to satisfy in order to appear for it.
Following are the eligibility criteria.
- A candidate with valid GATE score. They are given first preference for admissions to the course along with the scholorship offered on the basis of GATE score.
- A candidate who has passed qualifying examination or equivalent examination as prescribed by the Competent Authority.
- Also, a minimum aggregate of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects of all the years/semesters of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to the program.
- For SC/ ST and Category-I candidates, the aggregate of 45% is required.(Reservation is applicable only for Karnataka Candidates).
- Candidates who are applying for Government seats, the domicile criteria also has to be fulfilled. The candidates or their parents should have resided in the state for atleast seven years. Moreover, candidates should have studied in one of more Government or Government recognized institutes of the state for atleast seven years commencing from 1st standard to the qualifying examination either continuously or in a broken period.
