HI,
After successful completion of a B.Pharmacy programme, you are required to opt for any entry-level role in the pahrmacy industry such as chemist , bio chemist or pharmacist . Candidates with a working background in the related roles are given preference during selection.
The exams for selection of drug inspectors are either conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) or SPSC ( State Public Service Commission) whenever there is requirement and vacancies in the department. The news for examination is disseminated by Public Division of Government of India. The selection is based on candidates' performance in the academic records, written examination and interview.
Required eligibility
- Must be an Indian citizen
- A minimum of 18 months of experience in the manufacturing field.
- Must be in the age of between 21 years and 35 years. Relaxation of 5 years has been given to the reserved category.
Selection procedure
- Candidates who are interested must appear in the Entrance Tests conducted by a variety of state governments and separate Pharmacy institutes for providing admission to B.Pharm or D.Pharm courses. The questions in these exam come from topic of English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology.
- After completing this 4 years degree course, applicants can choose the M.Pharmacy course. One has to take the entrance exam like GPAT to get into an institute for a Master’s in pharmacy to perform specialization in a few of those particular branches of study.
- After completing two years of M.Pharm course, the candidate is eligible to sit in the entrance exam conducted by UPSC, Staff Selection Commission or different state service selection boards (though eligibility requirement for taking these exams is Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or related field) to be elected as a Drug Inspector at State Government enterprises.
