Yes, ofcourse you can do m.Tech from regular. There you have no restrictions but must be Eligible for it, here is the eligibility criteria.
You can even get admission into MTECH without gate,but you won't get admission IITs. So, going for gate will provide you a good career options

- Must be completed BTECH
- Must get Eligible in GATE examination
- Cutoff varies from college to college, minimum score must be atleast 60%
