Sorry to form you but NIT's don't take in through lateral admission. However, IIT's do. To get into IIT , you need to write mains and  have to pass 12th too. I would recommend you to look into other government colleges that have their very own system of lateral entry through their own exams. Check for LEET by various state governments.
