I Have completed my HS exam with 63% (pcb)..i want to be an IAS officer.. So wht should I do..?
To become an IAS Officer you need to be a graduate from any field from a recognized university. After that you have to qualify for 3 stages of UPSC conducted civil services examination namely preliminary, Mains and interview. To qualify for the mentioned stages you need to be very dedicated, devoted and effective in your preparations. The competition is very high in this examination. You can also join some coaching institute for your preparations.
To sum up I would add that Hardwork is the only key to success to crack any examination.
All the best
First of all keep this in mind that you must be graduated to become IAS.Now coming to your question to become and IAS you will have to crack upsc examination. Its one of the tuffest exam in the country and requires alot of hardwork and dedication to crack this exam.It has a very vast syllabus and you need to cover a whole lot of new and vast things.
But you have plenty of time right now.You can prepare for upsc as well as do graduation from aside.
I hope this helps.
Hey Rubina.
As you've completed your Class 12th and want to become an IAS officer, you need to complete any Undergraduation course first to be eligible to take the IAS exam. You can attempt the exam in the final year of your degree hence you cant start it's preparation during you degree too.
There are three stages in an IAS exam- Preliminary Examination, Mains Examination and Personal Interview.
The Prelims exam will include General Knowledge and Aptitude. You need to clear the prelims in order to qualify for the Mains exam. You need to choose one of the subject of your choice for the Mains paper. Hence you can choose any subject which you have an interest in. If you choose to pursue your UG degree in any science field, you can choose that too. Candidates who clear the Mains exam sit for the Interview. And the final selection is done on the basis of merit in mains exam as well as the Interview.
Best of luck
