I have completed my post graduation in mathematics. Now I want to go for PhD Mathematics...I have to find out that after passing UGC NET/JRF what's the criteria to get addmission in PhD(Mathematics). And which ones are PhD (Mathematics) colleges in Maharashtra? and what will be the fees??
First of all if you have completed you master's degree in mathematics with 55% aggregate, in case of reserved categories there is relaxation of 5% , you are eligible to appear for CSIR NET/JRF this is mainly for science specific streams such as mathematical science, physical science, chemical science, earth science, biological science. If you qualify CSIR NET/JRF then you may not have to appear for entrance test if that's the admission process for PhD admission because majority of universities follow this norm, as per their requirements you may only have to appear for interview, so prior to applying go through the entire admission process of the respective university in detailed manner, some of the top colleges in Maharashtra to pursue PhD in Mathematics are IIT Bombay - Indian Institute of Technology, IISER Pune - Indian Institute of Science Education and Research,Institute of Chemical Technology( Mumbai), VNIT Nagpur - Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Amity University( Mumbai) to name a few, check out the entire list of colleges at https://university.careers360.com/colleges/list-of-phd-in-mathematics-universities-in-maharashtra
