Food technology is a field of science that deals with the techniques involved in the production of food, both organic and inorganic. The techniques of food productions included in the food technology course are production, preservation, processing, quality management, packaging, labelling, and the distribution of food products. 1. The candidate must complete his or her 10+2 with Physics , Chemistry , and Maths or Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as main subjects from a well-recognized Indian board.

2. In their 10+2 test, candidates must attain the requisite marks or 55 percentile.

3. Each college/university has its own cutoff percentile, the applicant must score at least 50 per cent on their 10+2 examination in order to get admission at their preferred colleges.

4. Candidates also need to appear for the entrance examination.
