YES, you are eligible to apply for Lateral entry exam, even after completing this course in 5 years, providing if you fulfill the basic eligibility criteria for State level Lateral Entry exam :

Candidates who have passed diploma examination from an AICTE approved Institute with at least 45% marks (40% for reserved category candidates) in appropriate branch of Engineering/Technology are eligible for lateral entry admissions. Lateral Entry Programme is being offered at universities and engineering colleges enabling students who have completed 3-year diploma in Engineering or B.Sc. degree or equivalent examination with at least 50% marks, and Mathematics as a compulsory subject in Class XII , to get admitted in the second year directly.

Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% in case of Candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed XII standard with mathematics as a subject shall be eligible to apply and Students who have passed B. Sc.


definitely a diploma holder is eligible to appear in Lateral Entry Entrance Test to pursue Bachelor of Technology. If you qualify the entrance exam you will be able to get admission in second year directly of engineering degree course. Re: Diploma holder can get lateral entry into B.
Lateral Entry Diploma course is equivalent to three years Diploma course. If the educational qualification required to apply for a Government job is three years Diploma course then, being a Lateral Entry Diploma holder, you can also apply for Government job examinations.
