Dear Ravindra, Engineering and Applied or Social Sciences are 2 different fields. After having a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, thinking of pursuing a degree in Psychology is taking a detour. Now there are various courses in Psychology. In India, IGNOU offers you Master's degrees in Counselling, Arts and Counselling and Family Therapy. These courses require you to have a Bachelor's degree in any stream and the minimum duration to complete this course is 2 years and the course needs to be completed within 5 years. The fees is affordable too. Then there is a new section of Counselling that is springing up now and that is Military Counselling. National School of Leadership allows you to take distance course for this programme. There are couple of universities in India which offer a Master's degree in Organizational Psychology. However, they require a student to have Psychology as a subject in Graduation. The various subjects in Psychology are Principles of Psychology, Social Psychology, LifeSpan Development, Patho Psychology, Research Methodology, Counselling, Psychometry, etc. There are foreign universities as well that offer you diploma courses in Organizational Psychology wherein you can pursue the course online while staying in India. Please also remember that mere having a Masters degree in Psychology doesn't qualify you as a counsellor either in a Clinical setting or an Organizational setting. You need to have a licenae to be able to Counsel. To practise legally as a Psychologist, you need to register yourself with Rehabilitation Counsel of India (RCI). If you want to pursue a career in Clinical Psychological Counselling, you should obtain a M.Phil from RCI.Please do let me know if there is any specific information that you are looking for apart from this.

Studies is never a late choice, Ravindra. Infact time is always appropriate for taking an educational plunge. If you want to pursue Masters in Psychology abroad, you ideally need to fulfill few prerequisites. One of them is have an acceptable GRE and minimum GPA depending on the school that you are trying to attend. Few Universities like The University of Sheffield, UK conducts Pre Masters Programmes. These programmes allow you to study relevant modules that fit your required Masters degree. With this Pre Masters, you can be assured of a seat to study your Masters in the same University. For applying to the Universities in the U.S, a Bachelor's degree in Psychology is mandatory. For pursuing a Doctoral Programme in Psychology, you need to have a Masters in Psychology. In short, for applying to colleges in the US, you need to have a Bachelors degree in Psychology. Even for applying for Australia, the basic requisite remains the same i.e have a degree in Psychology. To be honest, to pursue a career in Psychology at this stage of your career is like starting from the scratch. If you are passionate, then I would recommend you completing a Masters in Psychology through Distance Mode from India and then may be go abroad for further Doctoral Programmes. If you want to pursue this career in India, you need to be certified from Rehabilitation Council of India. If abroad, you need to obtain a license from the country that you have obtained that degree. And even if you switch places for example, if you pursue your Masters from India but want to practise in the US, you need to obtain US license and vice versa.

UG in Psychology and BTech are totally unrelated. In what sense are you asking whether they are equivalent? Is it for any eligibility criteria for a PG or an entrance. Please further elaborate.
