But, in my opinion you should take the the examination, it will provide the real exam experience and help you in future.
The eligibility criteria for age for NEET is as follows;

Hi
Yes, you can definitely choose not to attempt Neet 2021 and don't worry you can appear in NEET 2022 without attempting neet 2021, there will be no problem. It doesn't matter at all even if you have applied for neet 2021 and got your admit card
This is because,
There is no rule which says that if you don't give Neet after filling its form, you become ineligible for next year neet . So, don't worry you will be eligible for Neet 2022 even if you skip neet 2021 provided
you must have passed 12th board examination with physics, chemistry ,biology/biotechnology and English and must have got:-
-
at least 50 % in aggregate of PCB i.e Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology in 12th examination if belongs to general category
-
at least 40% in aggregate of PCB if belongs to st/Obc/ Sc
-
at least 45 % in aggregate of PCB in case of pwd candidates to be eligible.
Also,
* to be eligible for neet 2022 one has to be at least 17 years old or more by 31st December 2022.

††††† My Personal opinion :- I would suggest you to appear in NEET 2021 examination instead of skipping it. I know there are times when aspirants feel that they are not ready for the examination but trust me this is totally normal and in the worst case even if you are not able to perform well in NEET 2021 you can simply take a drop and appear for Neet 2022 but appearing in NEET 2021 will be an added benefit as you will have the Real Experience of Neet examination and you will get to know the types of questions which are asked in the examination, their difficulty level etc so that you can prepare accordingly in your drop year
Thank you
