Hi there.

The correction window will be open from January 19 to January 31, 2019. During the correction window candidates won't be able to change their category, gender, nationality, State eligibility and Pwd status but surely be able to change other details.

Hence, application forms can be further edited only during the correction window. And, as you can see that you cannot change your category now according to the strict guidelines being followed by the NTA I'd suggest you to call the authorities and ask them for clarifying the matter.

Hope this helps.

Dear Mahesh, here is the problem. The correction window opens after the last date for filling the online application is over. All this while NEET was conducted by CBSE. Now it's being conducted by NTA. Even if you have to be notified by the authorities that you have made a mistake in your application form, they wouldn't personally know your details. So the chances of you being notified about your incorrect category are very less. At the cost of waiting for the correction window, you might have lost the opportunity to attempt NEET cos you cannot appear for the exam with wrong information as that can affect the merit list. There have been instances where the helplines haven't been answered and no reply to the mail's has been given yet. Personally, .I would suggest you to fill in a new application form with new contact no# and Email I'd but with correct details.

You cannot correct the Category during the correction window as category affects merit list. But filling the wrong category and sitting for the exam with the same details after knowing the mistake is a malpractice. The NEET guidelines are strict about that. I would suggest you to fill up a new form with a different contact no#, Email and the right category details. What you might lose now is the cost of an application form. But if you attempt NEET, qualify and then get an admission under OBC NCL and you don't submit the certificates because you don't have them, it's illegal.

Will nta consider me a general ur candidate at the time of counselling due to absence of obc ncl certificate?

Ideally because you chose the OBC NCL category, you would have benefited in the merit list like you would have gone better ranking. But if you fail to show your documents as proof, they cannot redo the whole merit list at the time of counselling. That will be considered as a malpractise.

priyaankasarkar Mam, I come under state list of obc and not under the central list of obc . If I fill obc in neet application form, will my admission into central universities get cancelled just because of my caste . If yes then what caste should I fill in my application form so as to be applicable for both OBC state quota n as general candidate in central universities ??

At the time of filling in the details in NEET application form, it is clearly specified that once you submit the form, it is clearly specified that after submitting the form you will not be able to edit the details pertaining to Gender, Category, Nationality, State Eligibility and PWD status.
