I have got 190 marks in bhu uet agriculture and I am OBC. Can I take admission in bhu in this number? ?
HELLO ARITRA ,
According to your question as you have mentioned that you got 190 marks in your agriculyure UET and you belongs to OBC category but according to the information 2019 UET results are still not out so how can you say that you got 190 marks in agriculture UET as the result for the UET will going to be announce in the month of june between 15 to 20 june so how can you say that you got the marks.
I think you are talking about the last year that means 2018 marks as the result is not out so you have some confusion.
On the other hand If you have decided to take agriculture as a future option, you have probably made the best decision of your life. The cherry on the cake is exposure with other faculty & departments at BHU. The campus is a bliss in itself. But then to make this work you need to be pro-active on your part. BHU as a university offers ample avenues for multi-disciplinary learning (provided you identify and seize an opportunity)
As far as B.Sc(Agriculture) goes, its a lovely amalgamation of knowledge right from Sociology, psychology, statistics, biotechnology, pathology, food processing, agronomy, entomology, dairy, horticulture, soil chemistry, farm engineering, Economics, extension to survey involving loads of lab work, field studies.
If I may innumerate career possibilities, you can have following broader options:
1. Academics:
a. Pursue your academic interest by going further for M.Sc(agri). You have many options from the subjects I mentioned earlier. Probably agriculture is one of few streams with students receiving a fat JRF scholarships for pursuing M.Sc(Agri).
b. Most the students opting for masters and subsequent PhD ultimately land in ICAR research network as researchers/scientists and assistant professors with lovely perks and salaries and peaceful life.
c. You may choose from different stream in physical sciences, environmental science, social sciences & biological sciences and go to JNU biotech, IGDRI MA Economics and several other opportunities. But to switch you need to put concentrated efforts on the subject of your liking.
d. You have excellent chances of going to reputed foreign universities for pursuing masters. For this you have to prepare yourself from 3rd year onward in this 4 years course. Every year student apply for MS in universities abroad and get acceptance, mostly with partial scholarships. They are now into research in reputed universities in US & Europe.
There are many good Samaritans among the faculty members who can mentor you to tread the chosen path. There might be certain faculty members who would be like torture for the class (providing dictation to the class instead of teaching). Don’t be dishearten and read teh subject from good books of international authors. Gain knowledge by reading books and using online materials. Grades can be earned by mugging up notes.
Alumni of college are provide mentorship, if sought by current student. Attend a lot of workshops/seminars/talks that are available in the campus (even if you have to skip classes). Join NCC, mountaineering club, learn a foreign language in evening classes in the campus (the enrollment and registrations happen a the beginning of session).
You have excellent sports facilities at university sports complex in addition to basket ball court and lawn tennis synthetic court in front of hostel.
Overall, go rock your world and pursue Agriculture at BHU, Varanasi.
HOPE IT HELPS
ALL THE BEST
