Don't be disheartened your marks are pretty good but I'm sorry, not high enough for getting you to an NIT... Actually, you might. The stream might be not of your choice but newer NITs might accept you. However, people who get into NITs are those who don't get through IIT entrance. So, your chances get reduced. But don't you lose hope, there are many colleges which will accept you wholeheartedly with that great a mark! All the best!
