I have got 279 AIR in JEE Advanced. What is better option EE from Delhi Mumbai, MnC from Delhi or CS from Roorkee, Gawahuti and Kharagpur?
Hi Ayan,
Congratulations on getting such a wonderful rank!!
MNC nowadays is not less than CS, most of the same subject are taught under cse and mnc and placement of mnc are the second best after cs.
So, if you are really interested in mathematics along with CS - go for mathematics and computing without any other second thought otherwise don't take extra burden of studying mathematics as I believe CSE has better demand in companies as compared to EE. EE has a vast syllabus and has very limited companies that hire for core jobs. If you you have interest in the field of CS and know will be dedicated towards the subject throughout your engineering period, I believe CS will be better out of the options.
placements, packages - all are inclined towards CSE and MnC. so it just depends if you wanna take mathematics or not.
- CSE, at least for next few years is going to have high paying jobs than any core engg. If job is priority blindly go for CS.
- Even if you are not good at programming the competition in your batch will drive you. So many platforms are available to showcase your CS skills. (Codechef, topcoder, etc)
- Choosing correct branch is a must if you want to go into research. As in jobs it is easy to change stream but difficult in research.
- If emerging tech interests you, computer science is going to play a big role.
Hope it helped!
Hi,
Looking towards the trends these years and the placement stats. Its advisable to go for CS and moreover at your rank you can get in almost any IIT. So going for Kharagpur or Roorkee IIT is better option. Still everything comes down to your interest of study and you should follow your interest.
All the best
