NIT Manipur

NIT Manipur was established in the year 2010 from its temporary campus at Government Polytechnic situated in Takyelpat, Imphal, with only three branches in the field of engineering, namely, Electrical Engineering , Electronics, and Communication Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering . National Institute of Technology has been shifted to its permanent campus located in Langol, Imphal in Manipur. The university has added two more engineering branches after 2013-2014 like Civil Engineering and Mechanical engineering . The varsity is constructed on a spacious area of 341.5 acres of land and is well-equipped with all the modern facilities and infrastructure.

NIT Manipur has secured 114th rank in NIRF Engineering Ranking 2021 as compared to NIRF Ranking 2020, wherein it secured 158th position in the engineering category. 50% of seats in NIT Manipur have been reserved for the students residing in Manipur, while the other 50% are reserved for students belonging to other states. The NITs like NIT Agartala, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Srinagar,Mizoram are achievable in this rank provided you belong to one of these home states . If you do not belong to these lower NITs then it would be difficult for you to fetch the decent / top NITs.
