I have got 96.99 percentile in mat feb 2019 exam. Which college should I go for and what specialisation course should I opt?
Hello,
Congrats, you have secured a good percentile in MAT. You can apply for all the reputed institutes/ universities in India. You must check three parameters before joining any institution; the parameters are a) Placement, b) Faculty and c) infrastructure. I can suggest some colleges because my friends and cousins are either studying there or have passed out. In these institutes, their recent year placement was good like Lovely Professional University-Highest package was 21 LPA.
NIT Warangal
Lovely Professional University
XIME
Christ University
Jain University
PSG Institute of Management Studies
Hope this information will help you. Best Wishes.
Good Luck!
Hello, that's a really good score, you can get top colleges which accept mat scores and some of them are :
1) NL Dalmia, Mumbai
2) Christ university, bangalore
3)BIIB, pune
4) BIMM, Pune
5) SIES, Mumbai
6) Alliance university, bangalore
7) jaipuria, Lucknow
8) jaipuria, noida
9) Jims rohini, delhi
And if I talk about specialization then it wholly depends on your interest but I would suggest you to have basic idea of all the core specifications and then take a rational decision, but in many colleges you have to opt for the same after you first year so that you have a good idea to which specialization should you go for.
Hope it helps.....
Hi Ashish!
Congratulations on scoring such a good score in MAT 2019. At this level, it is quite possible to secure calls from most of the top B schools in the country. Of course, IIMs and most IITs don't accept MAT score and it mostly covers the private institutions, but at this level, you have a great chance to get into a PGDM or an MBA course in a top institution. Regarding the specialization, it is advisable for you to take up a few online courses and see which one captures your interest. Also, you can choose your specialization after you enter the PGDM program.
The following are some of the colleges you can consider to apply for-
Department of Management Studies, IIT, Madras
• Fee for 2 years: 7.11 lakhs
• IITM accepts scores above 600 in MAT. Though it's difficult converting the call, it all depends on how you perform in the PI_WAT. The placement offered is excellent going by the fees you pay, and since it comes with the IIT tag, it's worth giving your best shot at it.
• Average Salary: 11.5 LPA
Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship, Bangalore
• Fee for 2 years: 8 lakhs
• The name Xavier holds a heavyweight and thus this is something you could consider applying for. The placements have seen a rise and the opportunities offered here is immense. A decent GD-PI should seal you the seat here.
• Average Package: 6.7 LPA
TA Pai Management Institute, Manipal
• Fee for 2 years: 14 lakhs
• TAPMI features among the top b schools in the country and going by the name it has garnered over the years, it becomes a must-apply college with this MAT score. Even for CAT, it has around 85-90 percentile and that should explain a lot. They have different specializations and it's better that you know what you want to choose before you apply. Though the fees fall on the heavy side, the placements also have seen an improvement.
• Average Package: 11-12 lakhs
Management Development Institute (MDI) Murshidabad
• Course Fee: 8.73 lakh
• Another child of the top MDI group, this b-school has been turning popular in recent times and is most preferred by the ones who have missed the CAT score here. The infrastructure is pretty decent and going by the fees offered and comparing it to other colleges, the return on investment is okayish going by the brand.
• Average Package: 4-5 lakhs
National Institute of Technology, Warangal
• The name says it all. Another government institute that accepts MAT score. The fees is low and if you are really desperate to get an MBA this year, this could give a great ROI.
• Course Fee for 2 years: 1.82 lakhs
• Average Package: 4-5 lakhs
Good luck. Feel free to contact for further queries.

1) NIT Warangal
2) Christ University
3) Lovely Professional University
4) XIME Bangalore
