Hello Divyesh. You have got a very good percentile and according to me it can get you into a good college. But you need to wait until the April exam concludes because the overall merit list that will be declared by NTA will depend on the no. of candidates appearing for the April exam and best of two attempts for candidates appearing twice. So your percentile as well as rank might differ according to that.

But for now you can check your rank by the formula below.

Rank=(total number of students -(percentile*0.01*number of students))

Tot. no. of students- 9.75 lakhs

Hope this helps. For further information check out the below links.

Arent you thinking that this formula could be wrong..My mean my rank is 7000 according to this formula and suppose there is 99.5 percentile but no 99.4 and 99.3 than according to this formula rank will be let 5000 than can you explain me the difference between 7000 and 5000 and there is no student with 99.3 and 99.4..Then how can  you say that this formula is correctly working??

Hello Divyesh. I understand that you are confused like most of the students out there who appeared for this exam because percentile is introduced for the first time in JEE Mains exam. So points to be kept in mind.Your percentile can directly determine the percentage of tot. students appeared in the exam who are ahead of you. Therefore exact % Of students ahead of you are- 100 minus your percentile score. So to clear your doubt I discussed with our team and we confirm that your rank for now will be calculated by the formula below.Rank- (100- your percentile score)*(874469/100)So your rank is 6646.But this rank is not final because if the no. of students in April exam increases (which oviously it will) then your rank as well as percentile will also change. So if you want to know the exact rank and cutoff you will need to wait till April. But according to previous cutoffs any rank below 2,00,000 will be good to qualify JEE Mains and sit for JEE Advanced. It is not possible that you got 99.24 percentile and no one got 99.3 (say) or 99.4 because this whole percentile system directly indicates exactly how much percentage of candidates are ahead and below you. So you might have a percentile same as another candidate but candidates not having a particular percentile is wrong.
