I have got AIR 2220 in CLAT 2018. will there be any chances to get into any NLU through vacancies?
Dear Sam,
Have you gone through
Revised CLAT 2018 Calendar
it says that
after the closure of the CLAT Office, vacancy if any, in any NLU will be filled by the respective
NLUs at their own level from the CLAT list in the order of merit as per the Rules and Regulations of the participating Universities
. First of all
it's not necessary that there will be a vacant seat in every or any NLU
. If that happens, in that scenario then the concerned NLU will apply their rules and regulation, if you fulfil them and no one else is left with higher than your's rank, only then you can get a seat in any NLU through vacant seat. I hope it helps!
Hi Samarth,
It would be really helpful if you mention your category - reserved/unreserved so we can help you better. With your rank, you have a fair chance for admission in middle tier NLU in case any vacancies arise. The Middle tier NLU's vacancies usually fill up till a rank of 2500-3000. A lower tier vacancy fills up till a rank of 4000. But this is only a probability in case a vacancy arises.
Seats are allotted to the candidates as per their NLUs’ choice-preference and based on their rank. In case any seat gets vacant, the preferred NLU on the higher preference of candidate’s choice will be allotted to them automatically.
Keep checking on the websites of all the NLUs, each NLU will release it’s cut off list for vacant seats on its website after CLAT closes its admission, most of the time people are not even aware of this, if possible keep checking everyday at least.
Hope it helps!!
Hi Sam,
After the counselling, if there is any vacancy then the individual NLU conduct counselling at their own level in order of CLAT score. But it is not necessary that there is vacancy every year. In case there is vacancy, you have high chances of getting a seat.
Thank you and best of luck.
