I HAVE INTEREST IN JOURNALISAM .....HOW TO APPLY/JOIN
Hi,
Irrespective of the day and age, the basic qualification for a journalist is common sense, the good grasp of current affairs, willingness to adapt and decent language skills.
But for adding value and to gain more technical exposure, I am currently pursuing a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism. Because most media houses these days, look for a PG in journalism while recruiting.
The prudent way ahead for would be to get a basic degree in a field of your choice( it could be anything from Engineering to Economics to Political Science). That adds value to your career as a journalist, as you will have a strong footing in the subject of your specialization. That way, you could have a better edge than your colleagues who have basic degrees in Journalism or Visual Communication.
Here are some of the courses listed down one can look for:
Graduation/Bachelor Courses: The duration will be of 3 years
> BA (Journalism & Mass Communication) + Diploma in Mass Communication
> BA (Journalism & Mass Communication) + Diploma in Journalism
> MA (Journalism & Mass Communication) + PG Diploma in Mass Communication
> MA (Journalism & Mass Communication) + PG Diploma in Journalism
Good Luck!
