Hello, at this rank you can't get any Nit, IIIT , a good gfti. So, if possible you can join a private college near your home or some University like Chandigarh University, Lovely Professional University,Graphic Era, Galgotia University etc. Since, you have mentioned for drop a year for Jee. If you want to take good colleges like Nit,IIIT, IIT ,etc you can take drop, but you have to study each topic and concepts .
You have to devote one year for preparation. If you are willing to do preparation you should drop. Otherwise you should not. All the best. Hope this will help you.
Based on your rank you should refer this link it will definitely help you https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer

Hello there,
You haven't mentioned your home state, and the branch you want to choose. Analysing the previous year data, you have very bleak chances of getting into IIITs and NITs. Don't worry, you can still get many good private colleges with this percentile.

You can check the cut-off ranks of all the NITs from the link given below:
https://www.google.com/amp/s/engineering.careers360.com/articles/nits-cutoff-for-top-btech-branches/amp

You can check the cut-off rank of all the IIITs from the link given below:
https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff-for-top-iiits

Also note that the cut-off rank changes every year depending on the difficulty of the paper, and the number of candidates appearing for it.

You can use our college predictor to predict the best college for you:

I would suggest you to sit for any state counselling. But if your aim is to get a seat in the top NITs or IIITs, then you should prepare yourself for JEE Main 2021. It's upto you what you will do. It's better if you use the college predictor to get an idea of the colleges you will get through this rank. If you aren't satisfied with those colleges then you can drop this year and prepare well for JEE Main 2021.

Hope this answer helps you.
Good luck!!
