You can take admission into an engineering college this year and also prepare for JEE Mains 2020. But do keep in mind, this will increase your job. Not only do you have to draw up a proper schedule to tackle both the things but you also got to follow the schedule religiously. Any disbalance is going to increase your job ten times. With that will come added stress and pressure.

Sorry to hear,that you haven't get any seat through JOSAA seat allocation program.But you can prepare in college in which you are currently studying.In 1st year you will get lot of time for preparation.And also syllabus of 1st year is smiliar to JEE mains..You can easily manage 5-6 hrs from college for JEE PREPARATION..
