I have obtained 86.5 marks in clat and have a rank of 5983 .Can I get good NLUs or good private colleges?

Considering your rank you do not seem to have any chance for admission in any of the NLUs as the cut offs ends around 1200 rank for the general category. But you have a great scope in privated colleges that accept CLAT ranks. Here is a list of a few private colleges which accept clat marks for admission-
