Hi,
As per the orders of the Supreme Court, there is no age limit for candidates who want to appear for CLAT. So, you are eligible to appear for CLAT, irrespective of the fact that you have a gap of one year after class 12th. However, you need to fulfil the following eligibility criteria in terms of academic qualifications to appear for CLAT 2019.
For undergraduate courses -
Candidates should have cleared Senior Secondary School examination/12th board from any educational institution.
Candidates need to have scored 45% marks in the qualifying degree. For SC/ST categories, the minimum aggregate requirement is 40%.
For Postgraduate courses -
Candidates need to have a bachelor’s degree in law. The degree could be a five-year integrated programme or three-year programme from any institution approved by the Bar Council of India.
Also, candidates should have scored at least 55% in their qualifying degree. However, candidates belonging to reserved categories will be given a relaxation of 5% in the aggregate marks in the qualifying degree of law. Therefore, reserved category candidates will have to score 50% in the qualifying degree.
