You can appear for jee main for three consecutive years that means 6 times in 3 years. So as you said you have given one jee in September then you have 5 attempts left. And please do check the age eligibility criteria when the application form come.

The total number of Attempts a student can write JEE Mains is 6. Twice the Exam will be conducted in a year. So in 3 consecutive years your maximum number of Attempt is 6. Which means you can attempt JEE Main twice a year for consecutive 3 years. Since, you have already attempted it one time, you still have 5 more attempts which you have to finish in next three years.
