So even though if you secure extremely good marks in MAINS , you will end up in getting some new NITs that too if you have reservations. If you are General candidate just leave the dream of NIT or take one more year and study hard & secure good percentage and good marks in MAINS. In order to get good rank in MAINS your percentage (40%) is equally important as MAINS marks(60%).
