To get the chances in IIT it is actually essential for having a good marks. But there is variation for different IITs.

For the core streams it is necessary to have minimum of 60%.

You have qualified your exmaination but with this score you wont be able to secure seat in any IIT, NIT . But there might be PSU's or other colleges that accept a score of 41. You can predict your colleges using gate college predictor, link for the same is as follows-
