i have scored 48.6 % in class 10th and i am a class 11 commerce student.will my 10th percentage would effect my selection in CAT?
Well as already stated in the previous answer that IIMs take students on the basis of CAT scores, a fact cannot be ignored that your past academic records do matter for your WAT-PI-GD shortlist. Not only this, if you happen to make to a premium B-School, companies during recruitment too check your past academic performance.
However, if you manage to do exemplarily well in your HSC, and score something around 90% or beyond, your class 10th marks would be compensated for some fact of your personal or health reasons.
What B-schools look for is students with consistent performance who can manage things well under pressure. Some boggle down situations in life are acceptable but then something extraordinary must follow that to prove that you learn from your lessons and can come back with a very good result in future.
Hope you understand the context.
All the luck and give your best !
Hello dear,
IIMs take admission on following basis:
1) common admission test(CAT)
2) written ability test (WAT) and personal interview (PI)
candidates who clear CAT are called for WAT and PI. The admission criteria differs from IIM to IIM.
Most IIM give maximum weightage to PI and CAT score. However, past performace, experience etc also play an important role.
If you score good in class 12th and clear cat with a very great percentile then you have a chance to get into IIM
All the best!
