Cochin University of Science and Technology(CUSAT) is a government-owned autonomous science and technology university in Kochi,Kerala.Founded in 1971, it has three campuses: two in Cochin and one in Allapuza . The university awards degrees in engineering and science subjects at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. Nearly 6520 students engage yearly in undergraduate and postgraduate study at the university. CUSAT has found a place among the best universities in the world, in the 2016-17 with a rank in the 800+ category.
In the NIRF University rankings CUSAT was placed in the top 30 for the year 2016.
The university is placed at fifth rank in India in
the Webometrics ranking of world University with a world ranking of 1150.
If you ask from placement point of view then it is good for CS,IT,SAFETY,SHIP BUILDING,etc.
If you don't have backlogs during placement then most probably you would bag a job if you are from the branches mentioned above.
For research point of view it is counted among one of the best universities in India. There are many research center established here.
Infact its rank according to NIRF is better than some of IIT’S and NIT’S.
Infrastructure is not so much good. You won't get hostel in 1st year. Most of the student get hostel in 3rd or 4th year. Fee of the college is affordable.
