Hello,

Given your background in B-Tech Biotechnology, pursuing a 1-year PG Diploma in Forensic Science is a good step if you are interested in switching to this field. Forensic science and biotechnology have overlapping areas, such as DNA analysis, toxicology, and bioinformatics, so your biotechnology degree will provide a solid foundation for understanding forensic techniques. Specialized knowledge gained through a PG diploma shall pave the way to proceed on to a Master's program in Forensic Science; this would add robust experience and open doors toward promising careers in forensic laboratories or law enforcement agencies along with private sectors.

If you feel very passionate about forensics, this can be the right transition for you. In case you are not sure to make this shift, internships or online courses about forensic science may help introduce you to the field so that you may eventually make full commitment to it. It will also take some time and dedication, but it may be an exciting, impactful career.
