Clinical microbiology is the study of any microbes which cause infection in humans. Clinical microbiology laboratory plays an important role in patient care by providing the cause of infection and antimicrobial susceptibility data to physicians. Rapid diagnosis of pathogens is important for initiating effective antibiotic administration and improving the outcomes of treatment.

M.Sc. Medical Microbiology is a 2 year full-time postgraduate course in Medical Microbiology. Eligibility for which is B.Sc. in any stream of science such as Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Physiology, Microbiology with 55% of marks (50% for SC/ST candidates)  from a recognized board.



Most of the colleges offering M.Sc. Medical Microbiology course in various states of India. A Government, Private and Deemed universities also offer this course. Every college has their own eligibility criteria, admission procedure, syllabus, fees structure, and placement training. Top colleges and universities offering this course include.This course aims to provide knowledge of medical microbiology which includes microorganisms, diagnosis, disease causation, and treatment of pathogens to advanced practical training and major significance to public health.



Admission to M.Sc. Medical Microbiology course is based on Merit-based or an Entrance-based.
