Hello.
There is no age limit for candidates to attempt the Jee. However, a candidate can attempt the exam for only 3 years after completion of 12th, so you can write the exam this year without problems, next year will most probably be your last chance to attempt the exam.

See buddy taking gap doesn't harm u while studying in the college and it may help u in understanding the subjects much easily.
But when it comes to the placement then u might get some problems as the companies which come to hire the students also try to get the new and fresher's that's why it might be difficult.
But if u r good in studies and have a better performance than others.....u will surely get that too
