Hello student as per my knowledge till class 10th math is compulsory there's no option of taking it or not taking it once you pass class 10th exam then you find options of streams such as 1)Physics chemistry math (science) physics chemistry biology (science) 2Humanities and 3)Commerce.
So you need to appear in any separate exam for taking any stream but you may have to appear in entrance exam for the admission level that depends on your school.

You don't need to worry at all as if you are going to opt pcb then basic maths is fine for you , you will not face any problem.  Actually,  Standard maths is mandatory for those  who wants to have maths in future like those who want to take pcm in 11th and 12th and want to give jee exam etc but for those who wants to take pcb and have have no plan or interest to opt maths in future,  then you can definitely go with basic maths.
