Columbia University, traditionally seen as the academic big shot of the two, is part of the prestigious Ivy League, America’s most historically prestigious and selective institutions.

Columbia University is a higher ranked university on QS World Rankings, with it being ranked 18th, while New York University is ranked 39th. This shows both are one of the best universities out there, but Columbia has an edge over NYU.

In Science and Tech too, Coumbia is a better draw, with it being ranked 48th in the whole world. Placement wise the records vary every year, though being a higher ranked college both overall and in the Tech domain, Columbia gets a better average placement as compared to NYU. Columbia University has got placements from companies like- Xerox, Intel. Apple, Philips, Honda, IBM, and Deloitte, while NYU has got offers from-Google, PayPal, Accenture, Uber, Microsoft and Samsung. Honestly, both colleges get placements from top companies, though Columbia is a higher ranked university

So, I would recommend Columbia University for the degree you want to pursue.

All the best!

Hello Aspirant,

As per your query i have researched a bit over internet and found those data which i will be sharing below. At last i will be providing the link of some info about indivisual intitues so that i you can choose fairly among those two Universities.

First of all both universities are the pretty decent with numerous programs in the top 5 in the world. If you can go to either, I'm sure you will find success. From what I got from the internet, the NYU program is better in terms of courses. On campus life, NYU’s location is much better. You can live pretty much anywhere in New York and get it to it comfortably since it lies slightly above Washington square park and south of union square.

In terms of placement both the universities are the best. I have the individual list of companies which visit the university for recruitment-

  • Ernst & Young
  • Intel
  • Siemens
  • Apple
  • Ford
  • Cisco
  • Motorola
  • Philips

  • Accenture
  • Samsung
  • Uber
  • Microsoft
  • Facebook
