Gap does effect placements but not always....Only few companies has strict rules regarding number of years...What matters the most is your skill & passion for work.

Further,to be on safe side, you should have a very strong reason ready to justify your gap if it is asked in the interview.

Hi prince,

It depends on the company you are applying to some companies allowed but some don't.

so before applying just read their rules.

Thanks

It does not affect completely. Some companies don't allow candidates who have academic gap. But nothing to worry about. All the Doors are not closed for you. You can go for GATE that provide better placement opportunities. Various placement test are available there like AMCAT, LITMUS etc that can help you there.

Hii,

Nothing much is affected but some companies do look over the age criteria too. So look out for those who don't have that criteria problem

All the best

Hello,

Sometimes it can affect your placement as some of the companies have rules that they won't allow droppers ro sit for placements. But at the same time these companies are very few.

Otherwise if your academic background is excellent and if you have talent then no one can stop you from getting a job in good company.

Good luck.

Hello prince kumar,

There will be no effect of this on your placements but you have to answer the interviewers with a convincable answer

Hello Prince, It doesn't matter if you spent two years after completing your Hs for joining a engineering college. Only you have to complete the course gently and wisely to get a good placement after 4 years. For your information, also there is no age restriction in the GATE examination. Wish you a very good  academic and professional carrier ahead.

gap does not affect on u r placement..its fully depend upon u r capabilities

Frankly it depends. However if you do well in college and learn the in demand skills it shouldn't matter too much.

If you have got admission to a big reputed college like NIT then you will have a less chance of getting affected by that and they merely consider these things, as JEE Mains is a prestigious exam and some people crack it to their desired college after 2-3 attempts and they certainly get a gap of 1 or 2 year. But if you are from not so reputed college where hardly placement took place, and your year gap is 2 then you may have to suffer a little during placement interview(a gap of year is acceptable and no body questions about it) as you may have to explain the reason for that 2 year gap and if they don't find it suitable or effective then they may reject.

Nevertheless most of the companies do not bother about these things and look only for the suitable candidate based on the merit ,so if you are talented enough and your grades are sufficiently nice then you will definitely get placed.

Hi, as you have 2 year gap b/w 12th and engineering. As many of the companies have essential requirements of having a gap of max. 1 yr after 12th. But there are many startups coming and there is a huge chance of growth in it. If you belong to core branch than there are many opportunity in government sectors like IES, S.E etc.

Thanks

Hi Prince,

Companies that visit campuses for placement offers look forward to hiring candidates so that in the long run they're benifitted from them.

If you are in a reputed college having a 2 year gap wouldn't affect your placement in anyway if you are extremely talented and passionate about your stream and what you do. Just focus on making yourself the best among your classmates, placements and oppotunities would follow.

Hi Prince,

It depends on the Company coming to your college. Few companies will have some criteria like,  'Number of years Gap' etc. Even if a company is not having any criteria, you shouldn't relax as they will ask you question regarding that during your interview. You should have a very solid answer for that which validates your gap.

It might impact for some time but you should not give up .. Some big companies never allowed such kind of candidate who have 2 years break but some companies like tcs allowed maximum 2 years break..
