Hello,

If the name is correct in school records but incorrectly recorded on the passing certificate or in the CBSE results, the name may be corrected up to ten years after passing, per CBSE regulations.

Legal path: Speak with a high court lawyer.

He'll submit a petition filed to the board asking for the name to be changed. Depending on the lawyer's skill, the entire procedure should take about six months.

As an alternative, write an affidavit in your mother's name and get it notarized or sworn before a first-class judicial magistrate.

You may affix your mother's identity proof ( like Aadhar, Voter Card or Pan Card ) as verification.

In government positions, the matriculation certificate is utilised as identification proof during document verification. An affidavit, however, can be used to clarify an error of word.

Thank You
