Hey, Deepika just wanted to inform you that the criteria to admissions in Thapar Institute have changed from this academic session.
There are two modes for admission now the 70% of the total BE/BTech seats shall be filled on the basis of percentile-based merit of JEE Main – 2019.
and rest 30% of the total BE/BTech seats shall be filled on the basis of merit of marks secured in 10+2 or equivalent examination in the aggregate of three subjects, namely, Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, and Technical Vocational subject.

thapar university is one of the preffered colleges when it comes to admission in b tech. coming to the fiiling up of the seats I want to highlight that cse and ece/eee are some of the most trending branches nowadays and due to the current growth of IT sector in the country these branches are the most preffered ones. So most probably all the seats in these branches are going to be filled this year and some of the seats in other branches may be left out. A decent score in JEE main can assure your admission in thapar university.

Yes Thapar University will fill all its seat via JEE Mains score only.
Although you fill have to submit the online application form commonly known as the TIET Form.
The form would be tentatively released in the third week of May.
Here is the eligibility criteria for admission:
Qualifying Examination & Marks:Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least 60% marks (for SC/ST candidates 55%) in aggregate of three subjects- Mathematics, Physics and any one subject out of Biology, Chemistry Technical Vocational subject and Biotechnology. If not this,
Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least 80% marks (75% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of three subjects- Mathematics, Physics, and any one subject out of Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational subject and Chemistry.
Candidates who have passed diplomafrom any AICTE recognized institute or a state board of technical education of at least 3-year duration with minimum 60% (55% for SC/ST candidates) are also eligible for TIET B.Tech admissions 2019.
Marks Required in JEE Main 2019-Candidates will have to secure at least 20% aggregate marks (for SC/ST candidates 15%) in JEE Main 2018. Or candidates will have to obtain at least 15% aggregate marks (10% for SC/ST candidates) in JEE Main 2019.
