Hello Sagar,

Mathematics is necessary for almost all the branches in engineering. In fact, you need to be good in mathematics if you want to pursue engineering. Mathematics enables your logical and reasoning skills, which is very much required in engineering. It teaches you different approaches to solve the same problem. Hence, Mathematics enables you to think in ways according to the situation.

Now coming to branches, Mathematics is required in CSE/Information Technology, as it is very much required in subjects such as Machine learning, Artificial Intelligence, Statistical analysis, Data Analytics, Data Science, Hacking, etc..

Mathematics is also required in other branches too, such as Mechanical Engineering. This branch has the maximum application of Mathematics, probably the subjects under this branch are too much practical oriented. Therefore, there is a huge requirement for Mathematics and Physics. Especially for automotive related subjects, designing, and physics-oriented subjects have too many concepts and formula, therefore there is a huge application of mathematics.

Branches such as Civil, Chemical, ECE, EEE too have a lot of application of Mathematics. There are some concepts such as in subject Machine Drawing, where you will have to apply maths.

Branches relating to Electrical and Electronics Engineering will also have a mathematics requirement. To solve Circuit problems, and analyzing your problems, you will again need mathematics.

Production Engineering and Instrumentation relate with measurements and again formula and concepts, therefore, here also there is a little bit of application of Mathematics.

I would like you to think Mathematics, not as a subject, rather a tool that finds its application in every part of life, not only in academics but also in practical life.

Apart from this, you will need mathematics, if you appear for GATE. Engineering Mathematics counts for 20% marks in GATE, which is very important. Therefore, whatever branch you choose, you will always have to study subjects such as Calculus for Engineers, Statistics for Engineers, Discrete Mathematics, and Application of Differential Equations.

In Short;

Please choose core branches such as Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

Hope this Helps

Regards.

ALL OF THEM.

All branches of engineering require math and physics.

But if I were to actually give an answer. it would be chemical engineering.

Chemical Engineering probably applies a lot more math than other fields. And you do need to know a ton of physics in order to understand fluids, heat transfer, mass transfer, etc....

Chemical engineering is a lot of chemistry too but it is only a small fraction of the overall field.

Hope you got the answer you are looking for thank-you.
