See it is a common problem and it happens with me also. I will just tell you something see passing the exam at the end of medical school training is not equal to a good Doctor. You cannot remember everything you read it is humanly impossible. You need to gather experience in treating people, learn to communicate, observe and practice skills that makes you a good Doctor. Nobody asks or remembers who got the gold medal in the medical exam or who were the back benchers. Success is way different than academic achievement in medical training. No matter how hard you study you will forget a ton. However, you will remember general concepts and have recognition memory of almost all subjects you cover. Ultimately, you will only remember details surrounding the diseases you treat and other info used frequently in your daily practice. So read and re-read again. There's no substitute to repetition of important points. Read the most descriptive and standard books on the subject. So you never forget what you understand well. Discuss with colleagues, seniors and friends. Take classes for juniors. If you want to learn some material forever, just teach it once.
Good luck
