Bachelor of Business Administration or BBA is one of the most popular bachelor degree programmes after class XII. A BBA course is the gateway to numerous job opportunities in a plethora of sectors. Sectors like Marketing, Education, Finance, Sales, and Government are just to name a few which offer opportunities to BBA graduates.

BBA can be pursued by student of any stream. The course is open for 12th pass students of Science, Commerce and Arts stream. To take admission in a BBA course, you should have completed class 12th with at least 50% marks in any stream under the Indian education system (CBSE or ICSE) or any equivalent board in India.

So the answer to your first question is yes, it is definitely possible for a science student to pursue a BBA course after class 12th. BBA is a 3-year professional undergraduate course in Business Management. It can be pursued in full-time as well as correspondence mode.

I understand that many of us believe that BBA is a business education course and usually a commerce student's cup of tea. We think they cope with it much more easily. But this is not the scenario anymore. Not to mention, science students are quite smarter and they also have a wider thought process. They can relate real life issues in the organisation well with projects, timelines, assembly lines, manufacturing and IT. That is why many IT professionals who have management knowledge are being hired in higher posts of the companies.

So it is not essential at all to have commerce for BBA, as all the subjects in BBA are taught from business management point of view and from scratch like management accounting, financial accounting, management mathematics, computer management etc. Every student gets to learn all basics. Though I am not denying that a commerce student definitely has a plus point over others as they'll be able to grasp an understanding in fields like accounting and business studies much faster. But hey, its 2020, don't forget it's all about you, your passions, interests, visions and your learning skills in any subject that makes you understand them and ultimately become a pro.

So the answer to your second question is that its not hard at all compared to what you have already studied in PCM/PCB.

There are many universities that allow you to pursue a BBA with specialisations in India. Some are listed below...

  1. Manav Rachna University
  2. Amity University
  3. OP Jindal
  4. IILM University
  5. Lovely Professional University
  6. GD Goenka
  7. Galgotias
  8. Symbiosis
  9. GGS IP University
  10. Sharda University

Talk a look at the list and check their websites for more information.

Considering business management, IILM holds a special mention here among these. They have a legacy in management education since 1993 and you should definitely consider them for your overall development and placement. They make you future ready. IILM University's Gurugram campus specially offers liberal education which provides flexibility in choice of subjects that you are passionate to learn. So you get to choose from a wide array of major and minor disciplines. The campus is also the most advanced and is very centrally located between corporate companies in Gurugram.

Hello Aspirant,

Nothing is easy or hard, It depends on your interest and capability, if you wish to go for BBA then it is good option.

There are institutes which provide the 5 year integrated courses as well and Indian Institute of Management is the first among all the IIMs to introduce it.

Students obtain Management skills at very early stage of their life that helps them to learn the knowledge of business world, organization structure and act as a leader to take decisions in business world.

Good Luck.

Hello Shahbaz,

Hope you are doing well.

Yes, you can definitely do BBA from Shaheed or any other college even if you are from science college. ... BBA is not hard for anyone for any stream if they come in it. Many Students do another course in graduation like B.Tech, BCA etc. and then they do MBA.

There is no any programme which is tough , It depends on your interest, capability & your performance during the programme. So you can take up BBA.

Good luck .
