CAT Exam Pattern
TheCAT exam pattern
comprises of 100 question from different sections. It is a computer based test which contains multiple choice questions (MCQ). Some of the question will be subjective types. 100 questions will be asked in the examination. The duration of examination will be 3 hours. For each correct response 3 marks will be awarded & one mark will be deducted for incorrect response.

The CAT Syllabus divided into four sections: Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation, Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning.

You can join a coaching institute or get material from them as they do keep a structured format of each and every exam with mocks.
For Quant you can refer Arun Sharma and Sarvesh Verma. Just buy one of the above.
For data interpretation you can refer coaching institute material as there aren't many good books available for this particular subject.
For verbal you can refer 'word power and easy' by Norman Lewis.
You can go through this link for topics you need to prepare for CAT.
Read newspaper everyday for verbal ability as it will help in reading comprehension, vocabulary and your reading speed will be enhanced. Also read few more books during the preparation for vocabulary and general awareness (fiction, biographies etc)
And keep taking mock tests and analyse result after every test you take.

Verbal & Reading Comprehension (VRC)
There are total 100 questions.
Quantitative Ability (QA) – 34
