See, the basic eligibility criteria for applying for UPSC civil services examination is that a candidate should have passed graduation from a recognised university. Now in class 12th you can take any subject it can be science,commerce or arts and same goes for graduation. You can do graduation in any stream it has nothing to do with UPSC. However there are certain subjects which will help you in preparing for optional but that is again something which has to be considered after graduation. So, at present take any subject you find comfortable in and that will help you in longer run.
